In response to the parenting-comment drama...when my brother and I were growing up, my parents were completely overbearing. They never did anything without us, and we never had sitters because they never went to places that weren't kid-friendly. When they did have to go out for the night, it was traumatic for both us and them.
As long as you're spending time with your kids and not sleeping away a party hangover, I don't see anything wrong with going out once a week and leaving your kids with a sitter. It sounds very healthy to me -- it keeps your relationship with your husband exciting, and that's an extremely important aspect of raising a family.
It also makes me realize I'm SO not ready to have kids (I'm almost 28). I'm way too selfish!
